New to I Am That?
-
Absolutely. We're a supportive, not competitive space where all levels are welcome. Every beginner is supported from day one.
-
If it’s your first visit to I Am That, your first Yoga or Mat Pilates class is complimentary.
If you’d like a little more time to settle in, we also offer two intro options designed for new students. These give you time to explore Yoga, Mat Pilates, Reformer Pilates, sauna and cold plunge, and find what feels right for you.
You can view the full details of our intro offers here.
-
For your first class, we recommend arriving around 10 minutes early so you can settle in without rushing.
We are a shoes off studio, so please remove your shoes when you arrive. Say hello to the reception team, they will make you feel welcome, show you around, and help you get oriented before class.
Wear something comfortable that you can move in easily. Our studios are intentionally clutter free, so we ask that phones, keys, and personal belongings are left at reception. For yoga classes, we also ask students to leave digital watches at reception.
We’re excited to meet you and look forward to making your first class a great one.
-
Our classes start on time, and once they've begun we're not able to open the doors or allow late entry.
This protects the experience for everyone in the room. Arrive a little early and you'll have time to settle in properly.
-
It depends on what you're looking for.
For energy and flow, try Vinyasa or Power Yoga, dynamic classes that build strength and work up a sweat.
For deep release, try Yin or Mellow Flow, slower, floor based classes that focus on flexibility and calming the mind.
For core and strength, try Mat or Reformer Pilates, Reformer uses spring resistance for a full body challenge.
Not sure? Try a mix and see what feels right, or get in touch with a quick question.

Yes. Our classes are designed to be accessible and adaptable across yoga, mat Pilates, and Reformer Pilates. Teachers offer options so you can move at a pace that feels right for your body, whether you are completely new, returning after injury, or wanting a more supported practice.
If you have an injury or any specific concerns, we recommend arriving a little early and letting your teacher know so they can support you appropriately throughout the class.
While our teachers are experienced, they are not medical professionals, so if you are unsure whether a class is suitable for you, we recommend checking in with your doctor or healthcare provider first.

Our Classes & Methods
-
Vinyasa (The Yang): Dynamic, rhythmic flow where you move with your breath. It's athletic and energising, builds heat, strength, and focus. Gets your body moving and your mind clear.
Yin (The Yin): Slow, meditative, almost entirely on the floor. You hold passive poses for 3 to 5 minutes, working into the deeper connective tissues - fascia, ligaments, joints. It's designed to calm your nervous system and create space in your body.
The best part? They balance each other out. Most people find the strength they build in Vinyasa helps them settle into Yin, and the stillness of Yin helps them move better in Vinyasa.
-
Mat Pilates is floor based, using your body weight and small props.
Reformer Pilates uses a specialized machine with spring loaded resistance to support and challenge your movement. Both build incredible core strength.
-
Yes, some are. Our Hot Yoga and Hot Pilates classes are set to a comfortable 35°C to support circulation and deeper release.
In winter, we gently warm all other classes to 25°C so the studio is always cosy. -
Yes! If a class is fully booked, we highly recommend joining the waitlist.
Our system (Mindbody) will notify you via SMS the moment a spot opens up. You can then accept or decline the place in real time, giving you total flexibility and ensuring you never miss a chance to move.
Studio Logistics & Prep

Yes. We have clean, well-equipped changing areas, showers, towels, and hair dryers so you can freshen up and head straight to your next stop in Collingwood.
-
We’re at 1-7 Emma Street, Collingwood. There’s easy access via tram, plenty of street parking nearby, and lots of bike parking right out front of the studio.
On weekends, we recommend giving yourself an extra 5 to 10 minutes to find a car park and arrive settled before class.
-
We value the time of our teachers and our community. For all classes and sauna sessions, we have a 4-hour cancellation window.
Because we are a small-group, boutique Reformer studio with strictly limited places, late cancellations (within 3 hours of class) will be charged a $10 fee, and no shows will be charged a $20 fee.
These fees apply to all students regardless of your pricing option to ensure that everyone in our community has a fair chance to book a spot.
