PRENATAL YOGA & PILATES RESOURCES

If you’re here, you may be newly pregnant, or looking for guidance on how to continue your yoga or Pilates practice as your body changes.

At I Am That, we support pregnant students to continue moving in a way that feels safe, respectful, and attuned to their individual experience.

Many students continue practicing Yoga, Mat Pilates, and Reformer Pilates throughout pregnancy, with thoughtful options and adjustments offered by our teachers. We encourage a slower pace, deeper listening, and a practice that prioritises comfort, stability, and ease.

Below you’ll find our prenatal resources, including guidelines, waivers, and helpful information to support your practice during pregnancy at I Am That.

Before You Practice

We ask that all pregnant students:

  • Check in with their doctor or healthcare provider before continuing or beginning a practice

  • Read and sign our prenatal waiver before attending class

  • Let the reception team know you are pregnant when you arrive

  • Speak with your teacher before each class, and share how you’re feeling that day

  • Keep us informed of any changes as your pregnancy progresses

During Your Practice

We encourage you to:

  • Listen to your body and respond if something doesn’t feel right

  • Use props, blankets, and supports to stay comfortable

  • Move slowly and take rest whenever needed

  • Be kind and patient with your body as it changes

  • Choose comfort and stability over intensity

Important Notes

  • Please avoid closed twists and planks off your knees

  • Your breath for your yoga practice is in through your nose and out through your mouth.

  • Heated classes and infrared sauna use are not suitable during pregnancy

  • Our teachers are experienced and attentive, but they are not medical professionals

  • Any guidance offered in class is not medical advice

  • If you are ever unsure, we recommend checking in with your doctor or healthcare provider

Pregnancy is its own journey. Our role is to support you with care, clarity, and respect, so you can continue moving in a way that feels right for you.

If you have any questions, our reception team is always happy to chat.
